Our History Daubers Inc. first opened for business in 1908. At that time, Carl W. Dauber's electrical business was operated out of a wagon on the streets of Washington, D.C. The business grew and his sons joined him as he expanded into appliance, television and radio repair. When the current owners, the Eiwen family, purchased the business in 1967, it was a well-established appliance repair and electrical service. The business was located at 2459 18th Street Northwest in the Adams Morgan area of Washington, D.C. The business continued to grow and became more specialized until all its efforts were directed toward the support of the food service equipment field. In 1987, Daubers Inc. left the city of Washington, moving to the suburbs into their 8,000 square foot location in Springfield, Virginia. Daubers main office location, at 7645 Dynatech Court, Springfield, Virginia, is just outside of the Washington, D.C. beltway. This building has 8,000 square feet of floor space where Daubers employs 28 people. Of these, twelve are service technicians who cover Maryland, Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia, and four handle the parts department. In 1989, Daubers Inc. established its second location at 1640 Ownby Lane in Richmond, Virginia. The Richmond location has 4,000 square feet of floor space. Six people are employed here, four of whom are service technicians covering the central parts of Virginia from Harrisonburg to Williamsburg. Daubers Inc. opened its third location at 5255 Henneman Drive, Norfolk, Virginia, in 1992. This location consists of 6,200 square feet which is divided into a 1,200 square foot lobby and parts department and 5,000 square feet of parts storage area and shop facilities. The technicians in this office cover the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and North Carolina's outer banks.
