About the VHTA In 1993, The Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association was formed as the result of a merger among the Virginia Hotel & Motel Association (VH&MA), the Virginia Restaurant Association (VRA), and the Virginia Travel Council (VTC). The association has recently welcomed the Virginia Campground Association into its operations as well. VHTA is the voice for travel and tourism issues in the Virginia General Assembly, and VHTA actively promotes the Commonwealth of Virginia as an ideal destination for leisure and business travelers. The association represents nearly 1,800 member businesses and staff. Membership is characterized as follows: Restaurants (46%), Lodging (20%), Travel/Attractions (17%), Allied (17%).
